Life Is Good

7 comments:
If you'll focus on the goodness of life you'll realize how beautiful, grand and amazing it is! You wake up to a brand new morning everyday with the possibility of having a better beginning and the chance to start all over again. I can enumerate many more reasons that make your life and mine good. These are:

1. The little things in life are the big things. The smell of your favorite coffee for instance can instantly make you feel good despite the tons of work in the office. Similarly, a hug from your child after a long day at the workplace will be the best reward for being home again and your worries just dissipate.

2. Simplify your life and your surroundings. Remember that less is more; and there is beauty in simplicity.

3. When it rains, it shines. You might find yourself crying this very minute, however the reason behind those tears will soon pass. And before you know it, you're bouncing back to life with more eagerness and enthusiasm.

4. Look at the glass half full. Do not allow your life's pot holes and bump rides lose your sparkle. Focus on what is true, good, beautiful, just, and the many things you are blessed with.

5. Dream big and always hope for the best. In the like manner, work hard and be the best version of you while you tick the lists for your dreams to come true.

6. Enjoy life; enjoy the ride. Savor the taste of your mom's dish, enjoy the laughter with your family, treat your problems with a pinch of salt because life is short. Don't waste away your precious life over spilled milk.

7. Smile. It's free. It's also infectious. More so, it makes you more beautiful!

Life is good. I'm sure there are many more things you can add to my list, don't you agree?

In The Long Run

7 comments:
I bumped into my high school friend in the supermarket last week! I was almost pissed because of the way she initially scrutinized me. Until I realized she was somebody I knew (and perhaps she was hesitant to come forward because of my chair). We had our pleasantries and found out that the person she abhorred the most was the very person she tied the knot with!

Currently, their home-based business is progressing. They  had huge orders from the candidates during the recent election and even print postcards and do other methods of printing services. I went home grinning happily after knowing their story. Because in the long run, they ended together despite the bouts of fights they had in the past.

Homemade Juicy Lucy

JUICY LUCY (noun): a cheeseburger that has the cheese inside the meat patty rather than on top

After watching this weekend's episode of TLC's Man v. Food Nation, I can't help but to share to my household the easy-to- replicate hamburger oozing with quick melt cheese. I started craving for it the moment Adam Richman profoundly shared how a food joint in the US did it from scratch and how he described the goodness of this sandwich.

You'll need:
Hamburger patties
Quick melt cheese
Hamburger buns
Condiments (optional)

Procedure:
1. Slice the quick melt cheese. Put aside.
2. Get two thawed patties. Put the slices of cheese (I put four slices for this burger) on top of one patty. Cover it with the other patty and secure the edges by lightly pressing it. This will prevent the cheese from coming out when cooked.
3. Put the fire of the stove on low heat because you'll be frying two pieces of patties. When done, put the cooked meat in the hamburger bun.
4. Enjoy!

It was a heavenly treat and a good way to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. How did you spend your Sunday?

Christmas The Pinoy Way

4 comments:
Can you believe it? June is about to come to an end! And don't be surprised if you hear Christmas carols being played and start seeing trimmings for the holidays.

Believe it or not, there are some families who begin decorating their homes as early as June! They would start by planning a new theme, purchase interesting pieces from radko from christmasplace and scout for more trinkets and items that can beautify every nook and cranny of their haven. And this is one of the reasons why Christmas is celebrated for a long time in the Philippines festively!

Intricate Cards

29 comments:
I was going through my pile of memorabilia  this weekend until I discovered a shoeboxful of notes, letters and cards! While rereading some, I found myself grinning sheepishly for keeping the junk I now consider but previously thought of as precious keepsake decades ago. Admit it. You must have also kept wrappers of chocolates, concert tickets or what-have-you in your younger years, right?

With the passage of time, invitation cards have evolved too. Gone were  the days when it were boring and simple. And besides, these are a  preview of what the actual celebration is like. The recipients of these  cards will surely look forward to the big day as they discover more  surprises because of a well-thought celebration that started from an  invitation!
